It's an invasion of the little people. Decked in purple hard hats and yellow armor, plastic barricade boys stretch across corridors and roadways, barring passage and staring down onlookers. But the folks at Children's Hospital of Michigan don't mind. "The Boys", by Lettering Specialists, are protecting patients and visitors from construction hazards of a new ambulatory care unit. The bantam barricades are the latest wave of protective graphics brought to the hospital's site.

KIDSPACE at the Center of Science and Industry in Columbus Ohio exhibited "The Boys" without lettering, for their "Build-a-house" exhibit. The exhibit is designed for children of early elementary and pre-school age.
